Heard Sri Shiv Vilas Mishra, learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.
The petitioners in the writ petition are seeking a direction to the respondents no. 2 and 3 not to raise any tin shed over the land of the petitioners' institution for keeping cows roaming on the streets. The petitioner no. 2 is the Deputy Manager of the Janta Inter College, petitioner no. 1 and the allegation is that the administration is converting a portion of the Institute's land into a 'Gaushala' for keeping the street cows and making construction.
No useful purpose would be served by keeping this writ petition pending.
We dispose of the writ petition with a direction that if the petitioners represent before the District Magistrate, Aligarh, respondent no. 2 in respect of the relief claimed herein within fifteen days from today, the respondent no. 2 shall consider and decide the petitioners' representation in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order in his office.
It is made clear that the Court has not adjudicated the claim of the petitioners on merit.
