Learned counsel for the petitioner prays for and is granted permission to make corrections in the descriptions of respondent nos. 3 and 4 within the course of the day.
The petitioner is seeking consideration of his claim for compassionate appointment on the post of Sub-Inspector in the light of recommendation of the respondent no. 5 vide letter dated 25.3.2017.
It is contended that the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment has been examined by the competent authority and a recommendation has been made to the Police Establishment Board, Head Office, Allahabad to consider the claim of the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment in the light of the fact that the respondent no. 5 has given 'no objection' in favour of the petitioner.
Only prayer made is to issue a direction to the competent authority to consider the claim of the petitioner in accordance with law.
To this submission, learned Standing Counsel raises no objection.
In view thereof, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioner, the present writ petition is being disposed of with the direction to the Inspector General of Police (Establishment), Police Headquarter, Allahabad to consider the claim of the petitioner and allow him to participate in the exercise for grant of compassionate appointment on the post of Sub- Inspector.
It is made clear that the Court has not entered into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner.
In view thereof, the competent authority would be under obligation to follow the procedure provided for said appointment.
