1. Heard learned counsel for petitioner, learned Standing Counsel for respondent nos. 1, 2 and 4 and learned counsel for respondent no. 3.
2. It is contended that land in question was acquired by notification 13.7.2006 under Section 6 of Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (hereinafter referred to as 'Act 1894'). In respect thereof, an award was published on 31.12.2013 but no compensation has been paid so far. Grievance of the petitioner is that he has submitted an application before Land Acquisition Officer for making reference under Section 30 of the Act 1894 but nothing has been done so far.
3. On being confronted, learned Standing Counsel fairly stated that appropriate steps, if not taken, shall be taken by the competent authority to make reference under Section 30 of Act 1894 expeditiously.
4. In view thereof, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, we disposed of this petition directing the respondent authority to make reference under Section 30 before appropriate forum without any further delay whereafter the District Judge shall make endeavour to finalize the matter expeditiously.
