The petitioner is the holder of arms licence. The licence has been expired. The petitioner applied for renewal of licence by Ext.P3 before the second respondent.
In view of the pendency of Ext.P3, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to dispose Ext.P3 within a period of four weeks after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. It is made clear that the licence application has to be considered in the light of the Arms Act and in the light of the decision of this Court in Muhammed Shafi v. District Collector [2012 (1) KLT 427].
The writ petition is disposed of as above.
