1. Present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction for the renewal of the petitioner as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).
2. In this regard, it has been submitted that the petitioner is an NGO, whose registration was last renewed on 31.01.2013 for a period of five years. The petitioner claims to have filed an application for renewal of registration within time. However, no order has been passed.
3. Upon instructions, learned Standing Counsel states that proceedings for renewal are pending. He further states that certain doubts and clarifications are required to be answered by the petitioner before any final order may be passed on the renewal application.
4. Be that as it may, without entering into merits of the controversy, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction that the application of the petitioner for its renewal, which is pending before respondent no.2, may be decided finally as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order.
5. The petitioner further undertakes not to take any undue or long adjournment.
