It appears that the writ petitioners made a complaint to the Pollution Control Board alleging water pollution in the River Godavari.
Therefore, we direct the Pollution Control Board to make an enquiry into the matter and come to a fact finding whether the complaint made by the petitioners is correct or not and pass a speaking order. In the process, hearing should be given to the petitioners, or one of them who is authorized on their behalf, and also the eighth respondent. If it is found that the complaint is correct, obviously all legal measures shall be taken by the Pollution Control Board. This exercise shall be completed within eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.
With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. There will be no order as to costs.
