Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the State-respondents.
Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the fifth respondent states that subject to verification of whether any punishments operate against the petitioner or there exists any adverse material which would detract from his claim for promotion on the post of Head Constable, his prayer shall be duly attended to and disposed of by the said respondent in accordance with law and with due notice to the private respondents arrayed herein. It is further directed that this exercise of consideration shall be concluded with expedition and preferably within a period of three months from the date of presentation of a certified copy of this order.
Accordingly and without going into the merits or otherwise of the claim of the petitioner, this petition shall stand disposed of in view of the statement made and noted.
