Though petitioner has retired in the year 2002, but his gratuity has not been paid till date.
From the instructions obtained, it appears that the officials are corresponding with each other.
Gratuity cannot be withheld for so long. The Executive Engineer i.e. respondent no. 3 shall ensure that necessary steps are taken so as to release withheld gratuity to petitioner within a period of two months. In the event, there is any formality required at the level of the petitioner, the same shall be completed within a week from today.
Petition, accordingly, stands disposed of.
