The sole relief pressed for by learned counsel for the petitioner at the time of hearing of this petition is that a decision may be taken on the payment notice dated 24 December 2016 issued by the Competent Authority for the land that was acquired under the provisions of the National Highways Act, 1956.
It is stated that despite the issuance of the notice to one Radheyshyam and the petitioner, the payment of compensation has not been made till date.
Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Competent Authority states that a decision shall be taken at an early date after hearing the parties concerned.
This writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with a direction to the Competent Authority to take a decision with regard to the payment of compensation after hearing Radheyshyam or any other person interested provided the payment has not already been made and an order has not been passed. Such a decision shall be taken expeditiously and preferably within a period of three months from the date a certified copy of this order is filed by the petitioner.
