In both the above writ petitions the challenge is against the non-consideration of application filed for issuance of “duplicate” Registration Certificate to the vehicles in question.
2. Both the petitioners have applied for duplicate Registration Certificate without complying with the provisions of Section 51 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 [for brevity “the Act”], submits the Government Pleader.
In the above circumstance, the writ petitions would stand dismissed; however, leaving liberty to the petitioners to make applications as provided under Section 51 of the Act. No costs.
