Heard counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel.
The writ petition has been filed seeking following reliefs:
"issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus to directing the respondent no. 1 to decided the Appeal No. C2018050000001613/18 (Ram Ashish and others Vs. Baij Nath and others) u/s 229B of U.P.Z.A. and L.R Act 1950 pending before him"
The appeal sought to be expediated appears to have been filed in the year 2018.
Counsel for the petitioner is not in a position to state as to whether the lower court record has been received or not.
Under the circumstances this writ petition is disposes of with the observation that in case the lower court record has been received, the lower court may endeavour to decide the appeal expeditiously. However, in case lower court record has not yet been received and the matter is not ripe for hearing, the appellate court shall endeavour to decide the appeal preferably within a period of four months from the date records are received by it and the matter is ripe for hearing.
