Order: (per the Hon’ble the Chief Justice Sri Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta)
This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction upon the Municipal Corporation to take action against the persons, who are selling the goods and merchandise by occupying the pavements and roads. The writ petitioner has also made a representation to the Corporation. In spite of that no action has been taken.
We, therefore, direct the 1st respondent to take action against the illegal encroachers of the roads and pavements in accordance with law. This action must be initiated immediately after Diwali festival and it must be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
Consequently, the miscellaneous applications, if any pending, shall also stand closed. No costs.
