For Petitioner : Mr.K.S.Murugan For Respondent : Mr.C.Emalias, APP ORDER This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.36 of 2015 pending on his file and file the final report before the appropriate court.
2. The case of the petitioner is that as against one Akthar Hussain and another, he has sent a complaint to the Director General of Police, Chennai, who, in turn, forwarded the same to the District Crime Branch, Coimbatore. Since no action was taken on the said complaint, he has approached this Court by filing Crl.OP. No.17604 of 2014, which was, by order dated 17.08.2014 disposed of, by directing the respondent to register the complaint lodged by the petitioner. Pursuant to the order of this Court, a case in Crime No.36 of 2015 came to be registered for the offence punishable under Section 420 IPC on 16.11.2015. However, till date, final report was not filed. Hence, this petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.36 of 2015 pending on his file and file a final report, if not filed earlier, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is ordered.
