It is stated that petitioner was selected as an Assistant Teacher in L.T. Grade by the U.P. Secondary Education Services Selection Board, and he has been working continuously as such since the year 2003. It is submitted that petitioner possesses requisite qualification for promotion to the post of Lecturer in Economics. It is stated that the post of Lecturer has fallen vacant and though petitioner is officiating on such post for fairly long, but his claim for promotion is not being examined.
Learned Standing Counsel submits that grievance of petitioner shall be examined, in accordance with law.
In the facts and circumstances, noticed above, this writ petition stands disposed of with a direction upon the respondent no.3 to examine the petitioner's claim and to forward the claim of petitioner alongwith other eligible persons for promotion to respondent no.2, within a period of six weeks from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order. The competent authority shall act in terms of Rule 14 of the U.P. Secondary Education Service Selection Board Rules, 1998, for the purposes of considering the petitioner's claim for promotion, within a further period of two months, thereafter. It goes without saying that an opportunity of hearing would be given to the Committee of Management, as also the other eligible candidates.
