JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner has been granted and issued a regular permit as per Ext.P1. The major portion of the route is in Kottayam. With respect to the portion in Ernakulam District, the counter-signature has not been obtained from the sister Regional Transport Authority and hence the petitioner is unable to operate the service. The petitioner has in the meanwhile filed an application for temporary permit in the route in which the regular permit is granted and issued. It is also submitted that as per the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules, it is permissible to operate in a temporary permit pending counter-signature provided it is within the permissible distances. In such circumstance, the authority,the 2nd respondent shall consider the said application and if there is no legal impediment shall issue the same within a period of 10 days. The writ petition is disposed of.
