HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE P.NAVEEN RAO WRIT PETITION No.39254 of 2014 ORDER:
According to the petitioner, passport bearing No.F3444146 was issued on 31.05.2005 valid till 30.05.2015. In the passport, against the column of date of birth it was recorded as 10.11.1988, whereas the actual date of birth of the petitioner is 05.10.1985. Having noticed the wrong entry of date of birth, on 20.05.2014, the petitioner submitted a representation requesting for correction of date of birth, but so far, no orders are passed. Hence, this writ petition.
2. Learned Assistant Solicitor General submits that the petitioner has to apply through online for any corrections in the passport by uploading the supporting documents and as evident no such application was made, but a physical application was submitted. It is difficult for the passport authority to process the physical applications. Since the process of receiving applications is streamlined and being received only through a website.
