The prayer in the present petition is to issue direction to the District Magistrate, Lalitpur to decide the pending application dated 1.2.2016 moved by the petitioner for grant of fire arm licence.
With the promulgation of the Arms Rules, 2016 w.e.f. 15.7.2016, no direction can be given to the licensing authority to decide the old applications. It is open for the petitioner to move a fresh application in the prescribed proforma under the Arms Rules, 2016. In case, such an application is moved along with certified copy of this order, the licensing authority would be under obligation to consider the same and decide strictly in accordance with the said Rules.
With the aforesaid observation/direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
