The instant contempt application has been filed for alleged violation of a direction issued by this Court in Writ C No. 46601 of 2017 whereunder the bank was supposed to provide statement of account to the applicant within two weeks from the date of deposit of Rs. Five Lakhs.
Counsel for the applicant submitted that in terms of the order of the Writ Court, Rs. Five lakhs was deposited in the bank on 04.12.2017, but so far, statement of account has not been provided despite reminder dated 22.02.2018.
Having regard to the above, this Court without drawing contempt proceedings at this stage, disposes of the contempt application by providing that the statement of account shall be given to the applicant within two weeks from the date of service of certified copy of this order personally or by registered post upon Manager, HDFC Bank Limited, Damru Cinema Complex, Civil Lines, Jhansi. In case, the statement is still not provided as directed above, it shall be open to the applicant to approach the Court by way of a fresh petition.
