1. Called in revise. None appeared to press the writ petition. In the circumstances, I myself have perused the record.
2. By means of present writ petition, petitioners have sought following reliefs:
"(i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of certiorari quashing the result of the main written examination held on 25.5.2003 as published by U.P. Police Head Quarter, Allahabad on 28.7.2003 as also the remaining other zones of the State.
(ii) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of commanding the respondents to hold a fresh mains written examination in consonance with the advertisement dated 1.9.2001 and the circular letter dated 31.8.2001 and to publish a fresh list of candidates who have qualified the same after taking into account proper percentage of vacancy for the general category only thereafter to hold any interview/grant appointment on the post of Sub Inspector (Civil Police) and Platoon Commander."
3. I myself have gone through the pleadings, grounds as also reliefs sought and find that petitioners are not able to make out a case so as to justify interference of this Court by granting relief as prayed for.
4. Moreover, it appears that either the cause of action no more survives or the petitioners have lost interest in this matter or it has otherwise become infructuous and probably for this reason, none is interested to have decided this matter on merits and that is why, counsel for petitioners is absent.
5. Dismissed. Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
