Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms. Kritika Singh, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel for the State respondents.
The request of the petitioner for issuance of Character Certificate is pending before the District Magistrate, Jhansi since 01.02.2016, a copy whereof has been filed as Annexure 1 and reminders given on 22.05.2018 and 3.7.2018 have been filed as Annexures-2 & 3.
The limited relief pressed before us is to issue a direction to the District Magistrate, Jhansi to take decision on the pending request of the petitioner within a fixed time frame.
Considering the facts and circumstances of the case we dispose of this writ petition with a direction to the respondent no.2 District Magistrates, Jhansi to take an appropriate decision on the pending representation of the petitioner within a period of six weeks from the date of production of a certified copy of this order, strictly in accordance to law.
