This writ petition is filed seeking for a mandamus directing the respondents not to interfere with the minority status of the Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science, Jaladampet Chennai - 601 302.
2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

The grievance of the petitioner is that even though the other institutions run by the petitioner association were given the minority status, the Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science, Jaladampet Chennai, is not conferred with such status, especially, when the same Association has established and running the said Institution as well as a minority institution.
4. Learned Special Government Pleader submitted that the claim of the petitioner will be considered within a short time provided a fresh representation is given along with the earlier representations given already.

Considering the above stated facts and circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of, by directing the petitioner to approach the respondents by way of a fresh representation along with necessary documents in support of their claim and also by enclosing the earlier representation seeking for such minority status. Such representation shall be made by the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of such representation and the relevant documents, the respondents shall consider the request and pass appropriate orders also by taking note of the other facts such as the other institutions run by the petitioner and the minority status said to have been given to them. Such exercise shall be done by the respondents within a period of four weeks thereafter. No costs. Consequently connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
