Pursuant to the order passed on the previous occasion, Sri Dipesh Juneja, Additional Director General/Secretary, U.P. Police Recruitment and Promotion Board is present in Court. The officer has assured that due precaution will be taken in future and instructions would be promptly provided to the learned Standing Counsel and instances of like nature will not recur. The Court is further informed that despite repeated notices sent by e-mail, petitioner has not appeared nor has produced his domicile certificate. Submission is that in such circumstances, the recruitment board has not considered petitioner's candidature for selection.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner belongs to scheduled caste and as he had no information about the notices sent, and therefore, he has not appeared. Learned counsel submits that petitioner be allowed a week's time to appear before the board and furnish his original domicile certificate.
In view of the above, this writ petition stands disposed of with the observation that in case petitioner appears before the Board within a week from today and also furnishes his domicile certificate, his candidature shall be considered, in accordance with law, by the authority concerned.
Personal appearance of the officer concerned is dispensed with.
