Heard Sri Rakesh Dubey, learned counsel for the applicants, Sri Lal Mani Singh, learned counsel for opposite party no. 2.
This application under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (in short 'Code') has been filed on behalf of the applicants with a prayer to quash the proceedings of Complaint Case No. 53964 of 2016 (Smt. Priti Pandey v. Arun Pandey alias Pintu and others) in summoning dated 04.04.2017 passed by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate-II, Kanpur Nagar, under Sections 498A, 420, 406, 323, 504 and 506 of the of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Section 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, Police Station - Panki, District - Kanpur Nagar.
Sri Lal Mani Singh submitted before the Court that Priti Pandey, opposite party no. 2, has amicably settled the matter before the Mediation Centre. In this regard, the affidavit of Priti Pandey, opposite party no. 2 is on record.
Accordingly, as per judgment of Hon'ble Apex Court in the case of Social Action Forum for Manav Adhikar and another Vs. Union of India reported in 2018 SCC OnLine SC 1501, the proceedings in the aforesaid case is quashed.
