Heard Sri Kuldeep Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioners, Sri A.N. Mulla, learned AGA and perused the impugned F.I.R, as well as material brought on record.
By means of the present petition, the petitioners have sought following reliefs:
"I Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus and directing the respondents not to made police encounter with the petitioners in pursuance of the case crime no. 318 of 2018 u/s 3/5/8 of the Cow Slaughter Act and also direct the Respondents to conclude the fair investigation in pursuance of the aforesaid case.
II Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus and directing the direct the respondent no.2 and 3 to decide the representation dated 7.1.2019 and 16.1.2019 of the petitioners which are still pending."
Confronted with an objection as to the maintainability of relief no.1, after some arguments, learned counsel for the petitioner has come up with the request that the reliefs claimed be confined to relief no.2 only.
Learned A.G.A. has no objection.
The writ petition is disposed of with the direction that the authorities concerned shall dispose of the representations dated 7.1.2019 and 16.1.2019, as expeditiously as possible in accordance with law.
We clarify that we have not commented on merits of the case.
