JUDGMENT / ORDER

ORDER:
This writ petition is filed for the following substantive relief:
“…..to issue a Writ, Order or Direction; more particularly, one in the nature of Writ of "Mandamus" declaring
i) the action of respondents in seeking to continue affiliation of the petitioner institutions on an application of AICTE norms contrary to the application thereof by the AICTE as illegal, arbitrary, unconstitutional and
ii) further declare the selective application of such standards and norms only to some institutions, including the petitioner institutions without applying such standards to all the similarly placed undergraduate institutions in the State of Telangana as discriminatory, and violative of Article 14 of the Constitution of India and set aside such action and
iii) consequently direct the respondents to act strictly in conformity with the law declared by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in State of T.N v. Adhiyaman Educational Institute, (1995) 4 SCC 104, Jaya Gokul Educational Trust v. State of Kerala, (2000) 5 SCC 23l and the All India Council for Technical Education Regulations relating to the grant of affiliation for educational institutions and adopt only uniform standards for the purpose of making assessment of the facilities for the purpose of continuing affiliation to institutions in the State of Telangana for the academic year 2014-15.”
After arguing the case, Mr. S. Niranjan Reddy, learned counsel representing the petitioners, submitted that for the present, his clients will be satisfied if respondent No.1 follows A.I.C.T.E. norms uniformly to all the undergraduate colleges in the State.
The learned Advocate General for the State of Telangana, while stating that there is no basis for the petitioners’ apprehension that respondent No.1 will not follow the norms uniformly, has submitted that the University will apply the norms and standards uniformly to all the undergraduate colleges within its jurisdiction.
The submissions of the learned Advocate General are placed on record and the writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
As a sequel to the disposal of the writ petition, W.P.M.P.No.45183 of 2014 shall stand disposed of as infructuous.
