The petitioner seeks a direction upon the respondents to allow him to carry on business of selling meat, inasmuch as, he holds a valid licence from the competent authority.
The learned Standing Counsel has suggested that this matter may be disposed of by requiring the District Magistrate to examine whether the petitioner possesses all the valid licences required by law for carrying out such business.
We, therefore,consider it appropriate to dispose of this petition by giving liberty to the petitioner to represent his cause to the District Magistrate, Bareilly by annexing therewith all the valid licences that he claims to possess in order to run the business of selling meat. If any such representation is filed, within a period of two weeks from today, along with certified copy of this order, the second respondent (District Magistrate, Bareilly) shall call for a report from the concerned authorities and ascertain whether the petitioner holds all necessary licences for running such business or not. In case the petitioner does not hold all the necessary licences for running such business, he shall be advised accordingly. However, in case the petitioner is found with all necessary licences for running such business, then appropriate order/direction shall be issued. The aforesaid exercise shall be completed, preferably, within a period of four weeks from the date of filing of such representation.
