After filing of the writ petition an interim order has been granted by this Court in Writ Petition No. 18464 of 2018 with regard to admission of Ayush Colleges, namely, Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy. An advertisement has been issued on 21.11.2018 by which applications for the examination were invited from 26.11.2018 to 30.11.2018 on the website.
The dispute was that initially separate examinations were held for Ayush Colleges, but subsequently it was decided that such candidates would also be eligible for the "National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test" (in short "NEET"). Since earlier such candidates were selected by the respective State Government holding their own examination. Since most of the students were not aware, they did not apply for the NEET Examination. Various writ petitions were filed in various states and this Court in Writ Petition No. 18464 of 2018 passed an interim order on 15.11.2018, allowing the State Government to hold an examination for Ayush Candidates. Pursuant to the aforesaid order an advertisement has been issued on 21.11.2018 for applying for the examination between 26.11.2018 and 30.11.2018.
That being the case, the desirous candidate may apply for the aforesaid examination and the State Government may proceed to hold an examination as has been decided by it and as observed by this Court by order dated 15.11.2018 in Writ Petition No. 18464 of 2014. However, since it is only an interim order, the said examination shall be subject to the final decision of that writ petition.
With the aforesaid observation, the writ petition is disposed of.
