JUDGMENT / ORDER

Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan, J.
The petitioner says that he is the Secretary of Kuthiranmala Sree Dharmasastha Trust. He seeks an order directing the police to accord protection to him and other members of the committee of the trust. The third respondent points out that the property was actually custodia legacy inasmuch as the affairs are under the control of an official receiver following the orders of the Sub Court and that charge was handed over to the Managing Trustee. If there are disputes relating to the administration or any matter touching the affairs of the trust or trust WP(C) No. 23218/2014 -2-
property or any endowment, those are matters to be dealt with in the appropriate civil jurisdiction. That cannot come under the guise of a writ petition seeking police protection. All that needs to be done by the police is to ensure that law and order is maintained and commission or apprehension of cognizable offence is taken care of and addressed in accordance with law. The jurisdictional police officer will act on any specific complaint about any real apprehension to life or law and order as well. This writ petition is ordered directing as aforesaid without prejudice to contentions, if any, touching the affairs of trust or trust property.
