JUDGMENT / ORDER

Petitioner was the owner of a private bus bearing Registration No.KL-2 T 9759. The said vehicle was plying through Kayamkulam-Punalur Road (KP Road) route and was having valid route permit for the same. On January, 2009 permit of the vehicle was expired and he could not renew the route permit. Hence the vehicle was not in use from January, 2009. Now the vehicle stands attached by the financier. Since the petitioner has not paid the motor vehicle tax, the 3rd respondent has initiated proceedings against the petitioner for recovery of the same. Petitioner is aggrieved of the revenue recovery proceedings initiated by the respondents and has approached this Court by way of this writ petition, seeking for the benefit of instalments.
2. Heard the learned Government Pleader as well.
3. Considering the limited extent of relief sought for, the petitioner is permitted to clear the tax liability by way of 'four' equal monthly instalments, the first of it shall be effected on or W.P.(C) No.27889 of 2014 2 before the 10th of November, 2014, followed by similar installments, to be effected on or before the 10th of the succeeding months. Subject to this, the recovery proceedings shall be kept in abeyance, for the time being. It is made clear that, if any single default is committed with regard to the satisfaction of the tax liability as above, it will be open for the respondents to proceed with further steps for realization of the entire amount in lump, by pursuing such steps from the stage where it stands now.
The writ petition is disposed of.
