1. Heard Sri Sheetla Sahai Srivastava, learned counsel for petitioners and learned Standing Counsel for State of U.P. and its authorities.
2. Petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking a mandamus commanding respondents-Authorities to take strict action against Bus Operators who are operating their buses beyond specified route in their permits.
3. If some third persons are violating any provision, remedy lies to petitioners in common law. If they are committing any offence, they (petitioners) may initiate criminal proceedings against them but in our view, a mandamus as prayed by petitioners, cannot be granted.
4. In view thereof, writ petition is dismissed on the ground of alternative remedy.
