Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, learned standing counsel for the State respondents and learned counsel for the respondent no. 1.
This writ petition has been filed praying to quash the scheduled caste reservation in the final list dated 26.3.2021 of Zila Panchayat ward election 2021 with regard to the Ward no. 31 Bahadurpur 3rd and Ward no. 31 may be declared as unreserved seat. It has further been prayed to quash the unreserved seat of the Ward no. 35 Bankati 1st and the same may be reserved for scheduled caste candidates.
The last date for nomination by candidates was 18.4.2021. The elections is scheduled for 29.4.2021.
Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, we do not find any good reason to interfere with the reservation at this stage.
Consequently, the writ petition is dismissed.
