Writ C No. 11948 of 2018 filed by the applicant was disposed of by this Court granting liberty to the applicant to approach District Level Committee for being issued OBC certificate with a further direction to District Level Committee to decide the application expeditiously.
Counsel for the applicant submitted that an application was sent to District Level Committee by registered post on 12.05.2018 alongwith certified copy of the order of the Writ Court, followed by several reminders, but no decision has been taken in the matter so far.
Concededly, no time frame was prescribed by this Court for deciding the application and it cannot be said that the proceedings have been inordinately delayed, as hardly four months have passed since the application was sent by registered post. As such, at this stage, this Court is not inclined to proceed in contempt against the opposite parties, but in the event, the proceedings are inordinately delayed even after filing of a certified copy of this order before the opposite parties, it shall be open to the applicant to approach this Court by way of a fresh petition.
The contempt application stands disposed of accordingly.
