Heard Shri Bharat Singh Pal, learned counsel for the petitioners, who are 12 in number, learned Standing Counsel on behalf of respondents no. 1 & 3 and Shri Jitendra Rana holding brief of Shri Vivek Verma, learned counsel for respondents no. 2 and 4.
In this petition, petitioners seek promotion on the post of Lekhakar non-centralized service in Nagar Nigam, Kanpur Nagar.
It is stated that under the Government Order dated 02.09.2013, promotion to the post of Lekhakar is to be filled up by 100% promotion from amongst persons who have completed three years service as Sahayak Lekhakar. The petitioners are stated to be working as Sahayak Lekhakar since 2011.
No useful purpose would be served by keeping the present writ petition pending.
This writ petition is, therefore, disposed of with a direction that if the petitioners prefer representation before the respondent no. 4 (Nagar Ayukt, Nagar Nigam, Kanpur Nagar) within 15 days from today, along with a certified copy of this order, in respect of the relief claimed in this petition, the respondent no. 4 shall consider the claim of the petitioners within a further period of three months.
It is made clear that this Court has not adjudicated the claim of the petitioners on merits.
