JUDGMENT / ORDER

On the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the respondent police has registered a case in Crime No.211 of 2016 on 17.04.2016 under Sections 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code against unknown accused. It is the case of the petitioner that there was a burglary in her house and she had lost her jewelry.
2. Today, Mr.Abdulla, Sub-Inspector of Police, Bazaar Police Station, is present in Court. On instructions, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) submitted that a similar burglary had taken place in the neighbourhood and another case in Crime No.212 of 2016 has been registered and the police are on look-out for the accused.
3. In a case of burglary, a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation, within a time bound manner, cannot be issued, because, the accused has to be first identified and then, apprehended for the purpose of recovering the items. Under such circumstances, this Court directs the respondent police to expeditiously conduct the investigation in Crime No.211 of 2016 and keep the petitioner inform of the progress of the investigation.
4. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
