We are informed that by order dated 5.2.2018, the U.P. Pollution Control Board, Lucknow, remanded the matter for reconsideration before the State Level Committee constituted pursuant to the directions of the Supreme Court in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 309 of 2003 (Laxmi Narain Modi Versus Union of India and others). In view thereof, we do not find any reason to keep this petition pending any further and dispose it of with the observation that the State Level Committee shall consider the matter afresh, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of this order. Petitioners are directed to produce a copy of this order alongwith copy of the writ petition and annexures before the State Level Committee within two weeks from today.
