Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri Sabhajeet Singh, learned counsel for the respondents.
The petitioner by means of this writ petition wants a direction that a decision be taken expeditiously on his on-line application for passport submitted on 24.09.2019.
Learned counsel appearing for the respondents has received instructions and informed that petitioner is involved in a criminal case and as such it is not possible to issue passport to him.
Be that as it may, since the petitioner has applied for passport and his application is required to be dealt with in accordance with law and, therefore, the Respondent No.2 may take appropriate final decision on the said application.
It is not a fit case to exercise our discretionary jurisdiction.
The writ petition is accordingly disposed of with the above observation.
