For Petitioner : Mr.M.Raja For Respondent : Mr.C.Emalias, APP ORDER The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned XVII Metropolitan Magistrate, Saidapet, Chennai to complete the trial in CC No.2625 of 2015 within the stipulated time fixed by this Court.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that based on the complaint lodged by one Manohar, a case in Crime No.1357 of 2014 came to be registered against him for the offences punishable under Sections 341, 324, 294(b), 427 and 506(ii) IPC, which culminated in C.C.No.2625 of 2015 on the file of the learned XVII Metropolitan Magistrate, Saidapet, Chennai. Thereafter, the trial has commenced on 14.09.2015, however, the same is yet to be completed. Hence, this petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.
4. Having considered the facts and circumstances of the case and taking note of the fact that the case is pending from the year 2014, this Court directs the learned XVII Metropolitan Magistrate, Saidapet, Chennai to expedite the trial in CC No.2625 of 2015 pending on his file and dispose of the same, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
