Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned A.G.A. for the State.
The petitioners herein seek issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus commanding the opposite parties not to harass them.
Contention of the learned counsel for the petitioners is that the petitioners have married each other of their own volition and on the date of marriage they had attained the age of majority, however, the Police is harassing them at the behest of their family members. Petitioner no. 2, the alleged wife has annexed her High School certificate, according to which her date of birth is 10th July, 1997, as such it is said that she is major.
In view of the above this writ petition is disposed off with the observations/directions unless the petitioner is wanted in any criminal case, Police will not unnecessarily interfere in their peaceful life.
It is made clear that we have not adjudicated the age of the petitioners nor the validity of their marriage.
