Madras High Court|03 October, 2017

JUDGMENT / ORDER

Mr.T.V.Krishnamachari, learned Senior Panel counsel takes notice for 1st respondent. Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the 2nd respondent. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. Heard both sides.
3. The petitioner seeks for a direction to the first respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 31.03.2016 wherein and whereby he sought for issuance of passport. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said application has not been disposed of so far.
4. Needles to say that it is for the 1st respondent to consider the said application and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law as this Court at this stage is not expressing any view on the claim made by the petitioner. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of only with a direction to the 1st respondent to pass orders on the petitioners' application dated 31.03.2016 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if no order is passed so far.
