The present petition has been filed for a direction upon the third respondent (Regional Secretary, Secondary Education, Regional Office Varanasi, U.P.) to correct the date of birth of the petitioner in the Certificate-cum-Marks-sheet of High School Examination, 2016 so that in place of 01.07.2003 it be recorded as 01.07.2000.
It is the case of the petitioner that for correction in the date of birth, already an application has been submitted through the Principal of the Institution concerned, but, till date, no decision has been taken.
Considering the nature of the prayer made, with the consent of the learned Standing Counsel, who represents the respondents, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioner, this petition is disposed of by giving liberty to the petitioner to represent his cause to the second respondent (Secretary, Secondary Education, Allahabad). If any such representation is filed along with certified copy of this order as well as other relevant documents demonstrating that correction application has been filed in accordance with Rules/Bye-laws concerned, the second respondent shall call for report from the Principal of the Institution concerned and, after verifying the facts from the record, shall take an appropriate decision in the matter, in accordance with law, preferably, within next eight weeks.
