1. These appeals are preferred against the common judgment and award dated 29.07.1998 passed by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal [Main] Panchmahals at Godhra in M.A.C.P. No. 689 of 1989 and M.A.C.P. No. 579 of 1989, whereby the claim petitions were partly allowed and the original claimants of M.A.C.P. No. 689 of 1989 were awarded total compensation of Rs.50,000/ and the original claimants of M.A.C.P. No. 579 of 1989 were awarded total compensation of Rs.20,000/ along with interest @ 15% per annum from the date of the application till its realisation.
2. The facts in brief are that on 01.08.1989 at around 0600 hours, near the ST bus stand of Village Angadia, many persons were waiting for the bus, at that time tempo bearing no. GQB 5226 in a rash and negligent manner dashed with the persons standing in queue for bus, as a result of which they sustained severe bodily injuries and one Arjunbhai succumbed to the injuries. The legal heirs of the deceased and injured persons filed claim petitions, which came to be partly allowed, by way of the impugned award. The present appeals have been filed for enhancement of the amount of compensation.
3. Heard learned counsel for the appellant. It has been submitted on behalf of the appellants that the amount awarded by the Tribunal under different heads is on the lower side. However, having gone through the impugned award, I find that the compensation awarded under the respective heads are just and appropriate and in consonance with the evidence on record and the law on the subject. I am in complete agreement with the reasonings given by and the conclusion arrived at by the Tribunal and hence, I find no reasons to entertain the present appeal.
4. For the foregoing reasons, the appeals stand dismissed. No order as to costs.
