Heard Sri R.P. Sinha, learned counsel for the petitioner, Sri Mahboob Ahmad, learned counsel appearing for respondent no. 3, learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondent no. 1 and perused the record.
By means of this petition under article 226 of the constitution, the petitioner has sought a direction to the respondent no. 2 to grant electricity connection to the petitioner on a portion in respect of which he is a tenant.
Sri Mahboob Ahmad, learned counsel for contesting respondent no. 2 submits that the petitioner has been asked to carry out certain formalities including submission of the processing fee.
In such view of the matter, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction that in case the petitioner comes up with a compliance of the letter dated 25.9.2019 copy of which has been placed before us as instructions received by Sri Mahboob Ahmad which is taken on record, the respondent will consider the application for grant of new connection to the petitioner on the premises in question preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of fulfilling of such formalities. Needless to say that the petitioner shall also submit indemnity bond, if so required by the respondent.
