JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the offences punishable under Sections 3(i)(r), 3(i)(s) and 3(2)(v-a) of the Scheduled castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 2015 and under Section 4 of the Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act in Crime No.36 of 2017 on the file of the respondent Police, has filed this petition seeking a direction to the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Coimbatore to consider her bail application on the same day on merits.
2. Mr.C.Emalias, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, takes notice for the respondent.
3. Heard both sides.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Coimbatore, is directed to accept the surrender of the petitioner and consider her bail application on the very same day purely on the basis of merits and to pass suitable orders, in the event of the petitioner surrendering before the said court within 15 days from today and filing of petition seeking bail.
5. This petition is ordered accordingly.
