JUDGMENT / ORDER

The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.RC MA - 1 2014 A0042 of 2014 pending on the file of the respondent and to direct the respondent to file final report within the time that may be fixed by this Court. 2. In the petition, it is stated that the petitioner was working as Director, (AMG-II), Office of the Director General of Audit, Central Expenditure, New Delhi. FIR has been registered for the alleged offences under Sections 7 and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against the petitioner. It is further stated that one Thilagar (A2), who is non-Government employee received a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- on behalf of the petitioner from one R.Hariharan, Liaison Officer, Miot Hospital, Chennai. In respect of the same, a search was conducted on 21.04.2014 at the residence of the petitioner and in the said search, a sum of Rs.3,65,000/- was recovered. The accused were arrested and released on Bail. Now, the petitioner is not in service and hence he is suffering from mental agony. Though the case is filed in the year 2014 and the investigation has been completed long back, the respondent police has not filed the Charge Sheet. Hence, the present Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner.
3. The learned Special Public Prosecutor submitted that investigation is almost completed and awaiting for sanction to file a final report. Hence, he seeks four months time to file a final report.
4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Public Prosecutor.
5. Taking into consideration the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Public Prosecutor, this Court feels that it is appropriate to grant three months time to the respondent police to file a final report. Accordingly, the respondent is directed to file a final report within a period three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. The criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
