JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 28.08.2016 regarding issue of patta in his name for the land measuring to the extent of 17 Ares in survey no.21/1, situated in Meladhanur village, Tindivanam Taluk.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that though the petitioner has given the representation for issuance of patta as early as on 28.08.2016, the respondent has not passed any orders so far.
3. Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submitted that the respondent may be directed to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders in accordance with law, within a time frame.
4. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in the Writ Petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 28.08.2016 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
