[Cause title amended as per order of this court made in M.P.No.2 of 2011 by DKKJ on 04.01.2017] .. Respondents The writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to take appropriate action in discharge of their public and statutory duties, on the representation of the petitioner dated 22.12.2010 received on 27.12.2010 within such reasonable time.

ORDER
The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to take appropriate action in discharge of their public and statutory duties, on the representation of the petitioner dated 22.12.2010.
2. When the writ petition was taken up for hearing, learned standing counsel appearing for the first respondent has filed the counter affidavit and would submit that pursuant to the representation made by the petitioner a notice calling for sanctioned plan had been issued to the second respondent on 07.12.2016 and proper action had been taken as per the provisions of Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1971.
3. In the light of submissions made by the learned counsel for the first respondent, this Court is inclined to direct the first respondent to conduct enquiry and pass appropriate orders on the representation made by the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order however, after providing due opportunity to the parties concerned.
4. With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
