For Petitioner : Mr.S.Senthil Murugan For Respondent : Mr.C.Emalias, APP ORDER This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to investigate the case and file a final report in Crime No.884 of 2010 within the stipulated time fixed by this Court.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he has lodged a complaint for the theft of EB meter and the same was registered as FIR in Crime No.884 of 2010 on the file of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Section 379 IPC. Though the complaint was registered on 07.09.2010, till date, final report was not filed. Hence, this petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.884 of 2010 pending on his file and file a final report, if not already filed, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is ordered.
