JUDGMENT / ORDER

The contempt petition has been filed to punish the contemnor / 1st respondent for the willful false representation made before this Court in Crl.O.P.(MD)No.22579 of 2016, dated 21.02.2017.
2. Heard Mr.S.R.Anbarasu, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.C.Ramesh, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the contemnor.
3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the respondent has completed investigation and filed a final report on 28.04.2017.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that one of the accused filed a quash petition in Crl.O.P.(MD)No.22579 of 2016 and it was reported on 21.02.2017 that the final report was filed before the Judicial Magistrate, Tuticorin on 13.01.2017. Since a representation made deliberately to help the accused, the respondent must be punished in the above Crl.O.P.(MD)No.22579 of 2016.
5. This Court directed the respondent to complete investigation in crime number 287 of 2015 and file a final report within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Since the respondent has filed a final report, this Contempt petition is closed. No costs.
