JUDGMENT / ORDER

The writ petition has been filed seeking permanent police protection to the petitioner to run a private Trust.
2. Earlier, the petitioner approached this Court seeking police protection to the Trust and also to take possession of certain properties. This Court, by an order dated 14.08.2013, in Crl.O.P.(MD)No.5911 of 2013, directed the petitioner to approach the Inspector of Police, Pattukottai Town Police Station seeking police protection. Pursuant to the same, the Inspector of Police also gave police protection to the petitioner on payment of cost and also to take possession of the property and he has also taken possession. Once again, the petitioner sent a representation to the Inspector of Police to give permanent police protection to him and his Trust. In the application, the Inspector of Police, by an order dated 03.05.2016, directed the petitioner to approach the Director General Police, Chennai seeking permanent police protection to the petitioner, as the Director General Police, Chennai is the authority to give permanent police protection to any individual.
3. Already the petitioner's application has been considered by the Inspector of Police, Pattukottai Police Station and directed the petitioner to approach the Director General of Police, Chennai seeking permanent police protection, without approaching the Director General of Police, Chennai, the petitioner directly filed the present Writ Petition.
4. In the above circumstances, the petitioner is directed to to approach the Director General of Police, Chennai seeking permanent police protection to the petitioner and on filing such application, the Director General of Police, Chennai is directed to consider the same and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law.
5.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
