This writ petition has been filed for a direction upon the respondents to consider the petitioner's claim for grant of compassionate appointment under Dying-in-Harness Rules, 1974.
It is stated that petitioner's husband was a Constable, who has died in 2016. An application for grant of compassionate appointment has been filed, which has remained pending. Today when the matter is taken, learned counsel for the petitioner has filed a supplementary affidavit annexing a letter of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Lucknow, dated 7th March, 2018, appointing the petitioner to a Class-IV post. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that considering the adverse circumstances faced, petitioner is prepared to accept such appointment.
If that be so, petitioner is permitted to approach respondent authorities, alongwith certified copy of this order annexing therewith copy of the letter dated 7th March, 2018, and convey her willingness to accept appointment. If petitioner submits her consent, her compassionate appointment be processed at the earliest, preferably within a period of six weeks, thereafter.
Writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
